A New Chapter

Aaron & I are excited as we look forward to the new chapter God has for our lives. After 9 years with Maritz, Aaron was let go (April 8) due to lack of work within the travel industry. They had to do some number crunching and his job was eliminated, it was a mass number of people-almost 500 laid off. Of course, it is sad for us to say good-bye to such a great company but we know that when the economy picks up, Maritz will come back stronger than ever and who knows we may find our way back to them. But in the mean time, we are looking ahead to what God may have planned for us. When Aaron started at Maritz in 2000, his famous last words were, "I'm only planning to do this for 1 year-TOPS!" And now 9 years, a wife and 2 kids later it is obviously that God was in control and not him, just like God still is in control. It was encouraging that his bosses/collagues and even clients were offering recommendation letters on his behalf-it makes me so proud of his work ethic and integrity. I'm not saying the journey won't be long and hard but Aaron will find something and just like everything he'll put his whole self into it. So I do ask for your prayers as we enter "the unknown." Specifically for Aaron that he would stay confident, that his self-worth would not waiver, and that he would find a career for which he enjoys and excels. For me that I would be patient and rely on God for direction rather than monster.com!! Also we are feeling a little like orphans as where to go next. We came to Nashville only for a job but now we have such a great support of friends and church we aren't sure we are ready to go. But then we've got family in Minnesota, Missouri and Louisiana, so we are open to what God has for us-we just don't know what that is yet.

For all practical purposes Aaron's new email address is aaronhmeier@yahoo.com and we are sharing the cell phone 314-614-8267 (same as before).

We are praying for you guys. Any company would be extremely blessed to have Aaron as an employee. I just hope that company is in TN!
