Matt & Gwen's Wedding

Joshua and Aaron headed out west to his cousin, Matt's wedding. It was super trendy in L.A. and a friend had a tux in Joshua's size, so he arrived in style! It was great for the boys to get some time with Aaron's family, especially in such a fun environment. Congrats Matt & Gwen!

Aaron Made the News!

On Wednesday, April 22, Aaron went to a job fair that we found out about last minute and when he got there, he was asked if they could follow him around. He said sure & then when it was over he asked how many people they were following that day. To his surprise, the reporter said-only one. When he asked why she chose him, she said he stood out (there were a couple hundred people there) because he was well dressed and you could tell he was confident. So that was super cool! Anyway this clip was on the wkrn.com/abc affiliate webpage. I'm not sure how long it will stay active but it's a 2 1/2 minute clip-pretty cool!

A New Chapter

Aaron & I are excited as we look forward to the new chapter God has for our lives. After 9 years with Maritz, Aaron was let go (April 8) due to lack of work within the travel industry. They had to do some number crunching and his job was eliminated, it was a mass number of people-almost 500 laid off. Of course, it is sad for us to say good-bye to such a great company but we know that when the economy picks up, Maritz will come back stronger than ever and who knows we may find our way back to them. But in the mean time, we are looking ahead to what God may have planned for us. When Aaron started at Maritz in 2000, his famous last words were, "I'm only planning to do this for 1 year-TOPS!" And now 9 years, a wife and 2 kids later it is obviously that God was in control and not him, just like God still is in control. It was encouraging that his bosses/collagues and even clients were offering recommendation letters on his behalf-it makes me so proud of his work ethic and integrity. I'm not saying the journey won't be long and hard but Aaron will find something and just like everything he'll put his whole self into it. So I do ask for your prayers as we enter "the unknown." Specifically for Aaron that he would stay confident, that his self-worth would not waiver, and that he would find a career for which he enjoys and excels. For me that I would be patient and rely on God for direction rather than monster.com!! Also we are feeling a little like orphans as where to go next. We came to Nashville only for a job but now we have such a great support of friends and church we aren't sure we are ready to go. But then we've got family in Minnesota, Missouri and Louisiana, so we are open to what God has for us-we just don't know what that is yet.

For all practical purposes Aaron's new email address is aaronhmeier@yahoo.com and we are sharing the cell phone 314-614-8267 (same as before).

Easter 2009

We spent Easter in Missouri filled with family, friends, food and egg hunts. Did I mention egg hunts? We were on a egg hunt circuit it seemed like-but wow how the kids love it. Hannah really had it figured out this year and was just as excited for 3 eggs as for 23 eggs. Joshua was adorable putting the eggs in his basket-one time he opened the egg, threw the money on the ground, and then kept the egg-I've got so much to teach him! But it was a great time to get to be around family and we enjoyed the trip. I was able to get together with an old friend Mindy (Berry) Walker and we let the kids play together-Hannah and Lucy were like old pals and Joshua and Eleanor were fun too. Aaron was able to get out on the golf course a little, we all got hair cuts (Joshua's 1st official one), a visit to the Easter Bunny and lots of fun with the foam from the Baslers.

April 2009-The Wickham's in town

The first weekend of April, my aunt Lana and cousin Matt came in for a visit. It was great to have them around. We had our first offical egg hunt at City Hall and the kids were adorable. They played golf and lots of swing time in the backyard. The highlight of the trip (for them) was all the funny little things that Hannah says on a daily basis that we are so use to we forget how cute they are-it was good to get some perspective!
