Hannah's 1st Dance Recital

We were barely home from Florida and Hannah had her 1st dance recital. It was a BIG deal, the venue was TPAC (Tennessee Performing Arts Center) downtown complete with professional lighting, stag & the works. Hannah did a ballet & her tap was to Splish, Splash! and she did so good-I think she was meant to perform.

LynLyn & DanPa were able to make it down for the show & The Meier's sent flowers to the little star-it was quite an experience for her.
Also I now know the trick for the "perfect bun" if anyone ever needs it. You take a tube sock and cut the tip off, roll it into a doughnut and then cover it with pantyhose (if desired for neutral color). You slip that over a ponytail & then use the hair in the ponytail to cover the sock and "ta da!" you have a perfect bun whether you have tons of hair or hardly enough (like was Hannah's situation!).

June 2009 Florida!

The first week of June, we participated in the Annual Murray Family Vacation-this year in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We had so much fun and packed as much as possible in while we were there. Lots of beach time, pool time, karaoke, dog track, poker tourneys, BBQ & family fun! We were so busy it was as if we needed a vacation when we got home. It's such a fun trip when we go with the Murray's-for those of you who don't know, my mom is the oldest of 7 kids and each sibling, plus families go, so we have quite a big number of people together-it is so much fun. It was great for Hannah & Joshua to get to hang out with their Louisiana cousins Mary-Evelyn & Allie too, they play so well together. Another random & super neat event was that Hannah's friend (Hannah B.) was in FL at Destin the same time as we were-so the girls got to play together on the beach-it was super cool experience to be so far from home and be able to meet up with a friend.

We did have quite a scare this year, my aunt and two high school cousin got caught in a rip current. It involved rescues from the lifeguards and 911 call-so it was super scary on many different levels, but it was so cool to see God's hand at work and so many things could only be explained as God. It was a really intense reminder that God doesn't promise us tomorrow, so we need to truly live each day, because it is a gift. We are, of course, so thankful of the way things turned out and it was an unforgettable trips in just as many good ways!

Since our whole family went, we have pictures galore at this shared website if you want to see any more:
